The oil is a clear, pale yellow to light amber liquid with a sweet, woody and balsamic scent lifted by citrus notes. Wood that fell naturally, no trees cut

Our Palo Santo comes only from wood that has fallen from the tree naturally and dried on the forest floor; no living tree is cut. This is how Peruvian forest law (Ley Forestal y de Fauna Silvestre, Ley N° 29763, under the supervision of SERFOR) regulates the use of Bursera graveolens, and our producers hold all the required authorizations and certificates for collection, transport and distillation.

Why perfumers and formulators choose Palo Santo essential oil

The oil is dominated by limonene (around 64%), which gives the bright citrus opening, with alpha terpineol (around 12%) bringing the soft floral and woody heart, and menthofuran and carvone adding the minty, slightly sweet facets that make Palo Santo so recognizable. In perfumery, it works as a woody and aromatic heart to base note for incense, amber, citrus and fougère compositions, and pairs well with cedarwood, frankincense, bergamot, vetiver, tonka and cardamom. In aromatherapy and cosmetics, it brings a calming, meditative signature to room sprays, candles, massage oils, balms and natural deodorants.
